Did you know that most trends make a comeback? That’s right, and the style that is in trend now is y2k fashion. So prepare to dig into your parents closet to get the trendiest clothes and dress just like they used to when they were our age. I’m here now to tell you the top ten 90’s and 2000’s fashion trends that are back in style.


Baggy jeans, as its adjective, describes it as pants that fit loosely to the body. Baggy jeans were usually worn by hip hop singers and skater kids but now they are mostly worn by “indie kids”.


Scrunchies were popular in the 90’s and were worn to decorate different hairstyles. Now with the popularization of “VSCO girls,” it is mostly used as more of an accessory than a hair tie.


In the 90’s, lip lining was usually used amongst Chicanas and female rappers. While now, anyone that likes make-up trends does it.


Juicy Couture tracksuits were mostly used amongst women between the ages of 18-25 who were influenced by Jennifer Lopez, Paris Hilton, and Lindsay Lohan. They continue to influence trendy people to wear them.


In the 90’s, bucket hats were favored by Run DMC, the Beastie Boys and in the 2000’s by Britney Spears. Now, singers like Tyler the Creator and Rihanna popularize them.


In the 2000’s, singers like Britney Spears, Avril Lavigne and Christina Aguilera used baby tees which we now know as crop tops. These are now the staple pieces in most teenager’s closets.


Low rise jeans were popular amongst the youth and now models like Bella Hadid and Irina Shayk wear them.


Streetwear was mostly used by hip hop singers, “skater kids” and people that lived in urban areas. Now singers like Billie Eilish popularized this style again amongst teens and young adults.


Fun prints like animal prints and bright colors were popular in the 90’s being mostly used in Hawaiian, graphic t-shirts and windbreakers. Lots of these styles have come back into fashion amongst teens.


Bella Hadid, Avril Lavigne and Lindsay Lohan were some people that popularized chunky highlights amongst young people in the 2000’s.
